The Art of Becoming: Trusting the Process

Some paintings begin with a plan. Others, like this one, begin with trust.

This canvas started in an intuitive painting session—layers of color, movement, and emotion flowing without expectation. No pressure to create something “right,” just space to let something become.

Then, it sat. Unfinished. Waiting.

That’s part of the process, too. Learning to pause. To listen. To trust that clarity comes in its own time.

When I returned to this piece, something had shifted—not just in the painting, but in me. I could finally see what was always meant to emerge.

Isn’t that how life unfolds? We want immediate answers, a clear path forward, but sometimes we’re simply in the waiting. And in the waiting, God is working. Forming something unseen, shaping what is yet to be revealed.

"Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand." – Isaiah 64:8

This is the kind of work I love guiding others through—not just in art, but in life. Creating from a place of curiosity, expression, and deep listening. Because when we let go of control, we make space for something far greater to unfold.

What do you see in this piece? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
