For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.— 1 Corinthians 13:12
I asked God for a vision of myself, and what I saw surprised me—a glass building. Tall, sleek, elegant, and transparent. It stood prominently, allowing light to pass through it unhindered. It reflected its surroundings but also allowed a glimpse inside, a structure of clarity and openness.
At first, I saw strength. But then, I saw the fragility. Glass can shatter. It only takes one crack for the whole thing to crumble. And in that moment, I felt seen. I have stood firm, striving for transparency and authenticity, but one sharp word, one failure, one criticism can feel like it threatens to break me. Maybe you’ve felt that way too—strong on the outside but aware of the cracks that could form under pressure.
But as I sat with this vision, God showed me something deeper. Glass is fragile, yes, but not when placed in the hands of the right Architect. Skyscrapers made of glass do not crumble. Why? Because they are designed by engineers who reinforce them, who structure them with precision so that wind, weight, and weather cannot bring them down. Their strength is not in their own ability to withstand pressure but in the intentionality of their design.
God is our Architect. He has built you with purpose, with integrity, with exact calculations for every storm you will face. Your strength is not in avoiding pressure but in trusting the One who holds you together. You were never meant to hold yourself up alone. Your foundation is Christ. Your framework is His Word. Your reinforcement is His presence. And because of that, no amount of pressure will shatter you.
Reflection Questions:
In what areas of your life do you feel fragile, like you might crumble under pressure?
How does knowing that God is your Architect change the way you see your own strength?
What would it look like to trust the structure He has designed for you?
Prayer:
Lord, I often feel fragile, like one wrong move could cause me to break. But today, I choose to trust that You have designed me with purpose and precision. You see every storm, every pressure, every weight I will carry, and You have already built me to stand. Help me to trust Your structure, to lean into Your reinforcement, and to believe that I am not holding myself up—You are. In Jesus' name, Amen.
